Brooklyn Distilling Co. was established way back in 1895 but due to tough times most-likely caused by WW1 they shut their doors.  Fast forward over 100 years and they're back with their first product, Brooklyn Gin.  I could talk about how quality this booze is with its hand cracked juniper berries, locally sourced grains, and fresh citrus peels but I'd rather point your attention to how fresh the bottle is because judging a book by its cover is fun.  The old school colored glass bottle will look great in anyone's home bar or surrounded by a brown paper bag hidden in your coat pocket smuggled into a baseball game.  The only way Brooklyn Gin could get any better... if Brooklyn Decker was serving it to you.

They Live By Night Art By Morgan Slade

What do half naked women, paint, a camera and rock 'n roll have in common? Not much until Morgan Slade works his magic and Frankensteins them piece by piece into beautiful works of mixed media art. Mr. Slade is working on his upcoming show They Live By Night at the LeBasse Projects Gallery. What makes his works so uncommon is the process that is undertaken to birth a finished piece. Starting with a group of fetching and titillating minimally dressed woman, Slade poses, paints and shoots them. After the photography is completed he then gets down and dirty printing the photos on archival digital proofing prints and goes at them with sand paper, gloss, paint and even the occasional gold leaf. The culminated work is a sexy madness suitable for any wall. Morgan Slade's works will be available for viewing at the LeBasse Projects Gallery Sept 17 thru Oct 22.

I've heard of people being called tool bags but I've never actually seen a "Tool Bag".  Thanks to The San Fernando Valley Mercantile Co. I know what one actually looks like.  This stylish bag packs some serious durability you probably could actually throw some tools in the mofo but I'm thinking using it for a carry-on bag is probably what most of us non construction workers will end up doing.  Based on a Bell Systems repairman's bag The San Fernando Valley Mercantile Co. has reconstructed this classic using cotton green duck canvas, top grain leather on all of the straps (yes there is a shoulder strap too), and antique nickel rivets to finish it off.  Grab yours and join a union.

The Girls On Bikes Project By INSA

INSA has been traveling the globe, hitting up Hong Kong, London, L.A., San Fransisco, Ghent (a Belgian City, had to look that one up for you). His mission has been to photo-document local bountifully blessed volunteering broads sitting on bikes in front of murals in each of these cities.  INSA is using the photographic pieces in his Girls On Bikes project to generate conflict in the viewer.  He's asking the question "What do you see, need, or want more? The art, the bike, or the babe?"  I'll be greedy and take all of the above.
